Zeenat Aman Opens Up on 12-Year Marriage to Mazhar Khan, Family's Betrayal and Financial Exploitation

Zeenat Aman, a veteran Bollywood actress, has shared a candid account of her 12-year marriage to late actor Mazhar Khan, detailing the difficulties she faced and the financial exploitation she suffered at the hands of his family.

The couple married in 1985 and had two sons, Azaan and Zahaan. However, Zeenat's marriage was marred by Mazhar's infidelity, which she had to tolerate for 12 years. Despite this, she chose to stay in the marriage for the sake of their children.

Zeenat revealed that she spent five years battling for Mazhar's health and life. Learning to give injections and do dressings, and even traveling overseas to find doctors for his treatment. She also had to live with the reality of Mazhar's addiction to prescription drugs and painkillers.

Which severely affected his health and eventually his kidneys.

Despite her efforts, Zeenat's husband continued to harm himself, and she was forced to leave the marriage. She alleged that Mazhar's family did not allow her to pay her last respects and took every last penny he had.

Zeenat's experience of isolation while caring for her husband is a poignant reminder of the often-overlooked toll of caregiving. Years of devoted service to Mazhar were marked by a lack of reciprocal support. With Zeenat frequently finding herself without a sounding board for her own needs.
