Pennywise Returns to Derry in HBOs Welcome to Derry Season 2
After a nearly year-long wait, fans of IT: Welcome to Derry can finally get their fix of Pennywise the Dancing Clown again.
HBO has officially renewed the series for a second season, with showrunner Brad Caleb Kane at the helm.
The decision comes after the first season received widespread critical acclaim and performed well in the ratings, earning an 80% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and a strong audience reception.

While fans won't have to wait another 27 years for Pennywise to return, they will still have to wait longer than expected. Creative development took some time due to the team restarting the story from scratch, which led to the delay in renewal.
Season two is set to take place in 1935 during the Great Depression and centers on the bloody massacre of the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who stop in Derry to buy ammo and face unimaginable horror.
