Akriti confirmed the news through an emotional message on her Instagram account. She explained that both individuals mutually agreed to part ways after considering their differing life situations.
Akriti shared the update to clear the air about where they stand. She noted that arriving at the choice was hard for both of them.
"With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future."
The actor explained that mutual respect and affection remain between them. Even so, their paths could no longer run in the same direction.
As much as we love and care for each other, we've come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together she wrote.
She emphasized that personal responsibilities played a big role in their choice. Both partners realized that their current priorities did not align well.
"With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways," she added.
She wished Shaw well as they step into new chapters in their lives. She hoped for calm and joy for both of them moving ahead.
"I genuinely wish nothing but the best, peace, and happiness for both of us as we move forward," she wrote.
