Naughty Dog's Shaun Escayg Confirms New Uncharted Game in Development

Nathan Drake is reportedly set to star in the next Uncharted game, with Shaun Escayg leading the project at Naughty Dog. Escayg, who previously served as lead cinematic designer on Uncharted 4 and then director on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, is leading the development of a new Uncharted game.

The report claims that the game is not a remake, but rather a new installment in the series.

Escayg's involvement in the project was corroborated by prominent leaker NateTheHate, who has a track record of accurately leaking gaming news. NateTheHate stated, "Yes, a new Uncharted is what I was referring to." This news comes as a surprise, given the recent focus on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is set for a proper reveal sometime next year.

Naughty Dog president Neil Druckmann reconfirmed that two Last of Us projects are in the works at the studio. However, did not provide further details.

The new Uncharted game is reportedly in the "very early stages" of development, according to Escayg. The game's development process was said to be "rough around the edges" and "went through a whole lot of hell during development." This suggests that the game is still in its infancy, but Escayg's experience at Crystal Dynamics and Marvel's Avengers will likely bring a new level of expertise to the project.

As Escayg takes the reins, fans of the series can expect a fresh take on the Uncharted universe. While the game's story and gameplay details remain under wraps, Escayg's involvement has generated significant buzz among gaming enthusiasts.

With Escayg at the helm, it's clear that Naughty Dog is committed to pushing the boundaries of the series and delivering a truly unforgettable experience.
