Tyr’s Day is upon us. Today marks a year since Pips was launched, which is notable, although it doesn't seem to have any impact on the popularity of Wordle. The popular word-guessing game Wordle has been thriving for several years now. I wonder what the next NYT Game will be?

Well I finally lost a round to the Wordle Bot, not that Mr. I couldn't find any information to rewrite. I found the CRANE to be a solid starting point, but unfortunately it left me with only 64 words to work with, and I was hoping for more from my next choice, SPOUT, which ultimately ran out of steam after using up eight words. I got stuck in a cycle of repetition. The DRILL project provided me with four green letters. Frill retained only four players. Thankfully, GRILL got me to the Wordle on guess #5.

I get -1 for guessing in five and -1 for losing to the Bot. The bot scored a perfect zero in our game of four and then took the lead with a single win. Our August totals narrow, but I still have a monstrous lead:

“Grill” comes from French gril, meaning “gridiron,” from Latin craticula, “small grate.” It originally referred to the metal framework used for cooking over heat, then expanded to the cooking method and the appliance itself.
