Uber Partners with Drone Delivery Company Zipline to Revolutionize Food Delivery

Uber is taking its food delivery service, Uber Eats, to new heights – literally. The company has partnered with drone delivery startup Zipline to make one million deliveries per day using the drones.

The first deliveries will start in Zipline's existing markets and expand into dozens of US cities. This move marks a significant step forward for Uber Eats as it looks to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving food delivery market.

Uber has been exploring various drone delivery options, having tested the concept with its Elevate division before partnering with Israeli startup Flytrex last year.

The partnership with Zipline aims to bring fast and efficient delivery within a five- to ten-minute window. According to Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, 'truly quick commerce' is a growing market that can be an enormous tailwind for the next leg of growth for Eats.'

Zipline, based in San Francisco, recently closed an $800 million funding round, valuing the company at $7.6 billion.
