The Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, which represents lawyers across the state, announced a strike till Sunday in response to the protests. The association claimed that the acting Chief Justice had misused his powers and sought an inquiry into the matter.
Protest Over Alleged Misuse of Powers
The Rajasthan High Court Lawyers Association stated that they would request the CJI to conclude this issue as it was neither in the interest of advocates nor the judiciary. The association also expressed its concern over the recent developments that have come to light through the media.
Justice Mehta, a senior judge at the Supreme Court Collegium, had also sought the transfer of the acting Chief Justice to another High Court and the appointment of a new Chief Justice. The Rajasthan High Court Advocates Association has also expressed serious concern over the recent developments in this matter.
