Ramayana to become first Indian film to release in ScreenX format worldwide

Get ready for a cinematic experience like no other as Nitesh Tiwari's two-part retelling of the ancient Indian epic, Ramayana, is set to hit theaters worldwide this Diwali in the revolutionary ScreenX and 4DX formats. The historic agreement with CJ 4DPLEX will make Ramayana the first Indian film to release in ScreenX, marking a significant milestone in the country's cinematic landscape.

Produced under Prime Focus Studios, DNEG, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. The film's production marks a significant collaboration between Indian talent and international partners, with Namit Malhotra serving as the producer.

ScreenX: A New Dimension in Cinema

ScreenX, a cutting-edge technology that extends chosen portions of a film onto the side walls of an auditorium, creates a 270-degree field of view that immerses select sequences into the audience's peripheral vision. For Ramayana, specific action and dramatic beats have been formatted for the side-wall presentation rather than playing across three screens throughout the runtime.

This innovative approach allows viewers to feel more connected to the story, as if they are part of the action unfolding on screen. The technology has already proven its worth with Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which became the highest-grossing ScreenX release in India and was also shot specifically for the format.
