Zambias President Secures Second Term Amid Contested Election Process
Zambia's president, Hakainde Hichilema, has been re-elected for a second five-year term after securing 60% of the vote in the country's recent presidential election.

The outcome came after a contentious electoral process, which saw Mundubile initially claim victory before alleging voting irregularities without providing evidence. However, authorities quickly dismissed these claims, and instead accused some prominent opposition figures of plotting an insurrection.
Mundubile later denied these allegations, calling them a fabrication. In the aftermath of the election, Hichilema addressed the nation, saying that the results demonstrated Zambia's commitment to peace, law, and order, as well as its status as a democratic nation where disputes are resolved through peaceful means.
