Recently, a clip from Aishwarya's old BBC interview from 2010, just three years after her marriage to Abhishek, has been making the rounds on social media. In the interview, the couple was referred to as the 'Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie of India'. However, it was Aishwarya's witty response that has her fans in awe.

During the interaction, Aishwarya and Abhishek were called the 'Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie of India'. Aishwarya, in her trademark charm and confidence, turned the comparison around and said, “What if we turn this around and call them Aishwarya and Abhishek of America.”.

Aishwarya's experiences with her in-laws, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, have shed light on the cultural significance of living with family in India. As, she shared. with an English journalist, the notion of cohabiting with one's parents is deeply ingrained in Indian society.

There, family ties are considered a cornerstone of tradition. According to Aishwarya, this arrangement is not only the norm but also a rite of passage for many women, who typically transition from living with their families to establishing their own households upon marriage. The journalist noted that while urbanization has led to increased independence among young people.

The cultural expectation remains that a married woman will reside with her husband's family, a setup that is widespread in Indian culture.

Aishwarya and Abhishek’s love story began with friendship. The two first worked together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke in 2000 and later reunited for Kuch Naa Kaho. Their friendship grew over the years before they eventually started dating.

The two grew closer while working together on Umrao Jaan in 2006. And their relationship reportedly blossomed further during the making of Mani Ratnam’s Guru. After the film’s premiere in New York, Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya on the balcony of his hotel.

Aishwarya said yes, and the couple got married on April 20, 2007, in a private ceremony at the Bachchan family home in Mumbai. They welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in November 2011.
