A trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was leaked online, sparking widespread discussion among fans and industry insiders. The film's co-writer has since spoken out about his disappointment with the leak.

The trailer, which is not expected to be released in theaters until next year, features footage of Miles Morales as Spider-Man trapped in an alternate universe and on the run as he tries to save his family. Shameik Moore reprises his voice role as the Marvel web-slinger in the upcoming film.

Christopher Miller, who co-wrote the film with J.B. Smoove, expressed his diswith the leak on social media, stating that he is not a fan of leaks of unfinished or not fully rendered footage.

This incident is not an isolated one, as several major Hollywood films have been hit by online leaks in recent times. The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day were both leaked after their theatrical releases, while the full version of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender was also leaked before its streaming release.

Eric Nam, an actor who appeared at Comic-Con, spoke about the importance of respecting the intentions of creators and artists. ‘There’s something about respecting the intentions of the creators and many artists who poured years of their lives into this,’ he said. ‘To go about it the proper way is a very respectful way of showing appreciation to the art form and to the many, many, countless hours put into this.’

Beyond the Spider-Verse will wrap up the story of Miles Morales as Spider-Man, following his big-screen debut in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 18, 2027.
