Sunny Deol Opens Up About 16-Year Feud with Shah Rukh Khan Over Darr Set Disagreement
Sunny Deol recently opened up about a long-standing feud with Shah Rukh Khan during the filming of their 1993 movie Darr. The two actors had a disagreement that lasted for 16 years, with Sunny speaking out about how insecurity among actors can affect on-set dynamics.
In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast, Sunny shared his side of the story, saying he wasn't angry at Shah Rukh but rather at himself. He recalled tearing off his jeans during a heated argument with director Yash Chopra over a scene that defied logic for his character.
When asked if he and Shah Rukh are friends now, Sunny responded that they were never enemies in the first place, but rather colleagues in the film industry.

Sunny's feud with Shah Rukh began during the filming of Darr, where he played a naval commando. The two had an argument over a scene where the antagonist managed to stab him face-to-face, which Sunny felt was unrealistic for his character. He also took issue with the sympathy given to Shah Rukh's villainous character.
Sunny even vowed never to work with Yash Chopra again after their disagreement. However, things seem to have cooled down between them after Shah Rukh congratulated Sunny on the success of Gadar 2 in August 2023. In an interview, Sunny spoke about patching things up with Shah Rukh and said he was happy to see their feud end.
Sunny's comments come as a reminder that even in the film industry, insecurity can lead to unease on set. It's a lesson that many actors have learned the hard way, and one that Sunny is now sharing with his fans.
