‘Reacher’ Season 4 Lands Best Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Since Season 1

Alan Ritchson's "Reacher" Season 4 has premiered on Prime Video, immediately drawing audience praise comparable to its first season. The new installment, adapted from Lee Child's "Gone Tomorrow," sees Reacher in Philadelphia uncovering a deep government conspiracy after a subway encounter, featuring a new supporting cast. Despite critics giving it a series-low 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, early viewer ratings are robust, matching Season 1's 91% "fresh" score and significantly surpassing the previous two seasons. Ritchson highlights the season's unpredictable plot, with major twists and antagonist reveals occurring earlier than expected, promising a compelling watch.

Reacher Season 4, starring Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, is reflecting a level of popularity that the show hasn’t seen since Season 1.

Each season of Reacher, of course, is based on a book in author Lee Child’s Jack Reacher best-selling series of novels. Reacher Season 4 is based on Child’s 13th Jack Reacher book, Gone Tomorrow.

Reacher Season 4 premiered on Prime Video on Wednesday with Episodes 1-3. This season, which is set in Philadelphia, Reacher has harrowing encounter on a subway train that leads down a deep rabbit hole involving a high-level government conspiracy. Like previous seasons of Reacher, Season 4 introduces a whole new cast of characters who come into contact with the former Army Military Police investigator-turned-lone wolf sleuth, including Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Robertson.

While Season 4 of Reacher to date has earned a series-low Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score of 89% based on 19 reviews — a score, while still impressive, that is down 9% from Seasons 2 and 3 — early audience reviews of the new season are saying it ranks with the show’s best.

In the early round of audience scores posted on RT on Wednesday, Reacher Season 4 earned a 91% “fresh” score on the site’s Popcornmeter, based on fewer than 50 verified user ratings. Granted, while the score could rise or fall in the coming days as audiences continue to rate the film on the review aggregation site, the 91% audience score matches the best of the four seasons of Reacher and is far higher than the last two seasons.

Prior to Season 4, 2022’s Reacher Season 1 was most favored by audiences on RT, scoring a 91% “fresh” audience score on RT based on 2,500 verified user ratings. The audience score dropped significantly in the next two seasons of the show, as Season 2 scored 77% with audiences in 2023, while Season 3 had a 73% score in 2025. The audience scores for Reacher Seasons 2 and 3 were each determined by 1,000-plus verified user ratings.

Note: This article will be updates as more RT audience scores for “Reacher” Season 4 are posted.

While only three episodes of Reacher Season 4 are available so far, perhaps one of the reasons fans are raving about the new episodes early on is because not everything in the show is as it seems when it comes to revealing who the villain is — and Alan Ritchson is promising more of where that came from.

“I think one of my favorite things this season, what I think is going to be so shocking is that usually what we’ve done — especially Season 1’s a good example — is that the mysteries and twists and reveals and the ‘just when you think it’s the head of the corporation and then he’s got his throat slit, I guess it’s not him, who is it?’ … you [found] out kind of right at the end what’s really going on,” told TV Insider recently. “[Here] you find out like halfway through. It’s all of a sudden like, ‘Oh, oh … whoa!’ There it is, Episode 4. There’s the bad guy. It happens so suddenly.”

Episodes 1-3 of Reacher Season 4 are streaming on Prime Video, with all 24 episodes of the show’s first three seasons.
