MTV VMAs Nominations Announced: Madonna Leads the Pack with 11 Nods

Madonna is leading the pack at this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) with an impressive 11 nominations, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year for her collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on 'Bring Your Love,' and Video of the Year for 'Confessions II – The Film.'

Taylor Swift, the most-awarded act in VMAs history, came in second with nine nominations, including Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for her song 'The Fate of Ophelia.' Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter are tied for third with seven each, both earning nods for Artist of the Year and Video of the Year.

The competition is heating up as Bruno Mars rounds out the top three with five nominations, including Artist of the Year and a spot in the Video of the Year race for his song 'I Just Might.' Gener8ion's 'STORM starring Yung Lean' is also vying for Video of the Year, alongside Madonna's 'Confessions II – The Film.'

Madonna's impressive feat is the latest in a resurgent year for the superstar, whose Confessions II debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart last month. Her album is generally considered her most accomplished work since the 2005 release of Confessions on a Dance Floor.
