Metal Gear Solid fans have been abuzz with excitement over the latest screenshots of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2, which may hold the key to understanding how Konami handles the iconic 'PS3 mention' line in the new port of Guns of the Patriots. The game's adherence to the PS3 has long been a topic of discussion among fans, and its exclusivity on the console allowed director Hideo Kojima and his team to incorporate innovative features like fourth-wall breaks.

One such feature is the famous scene where Otacon calls back to Metal Gear Solid 1's disc-swapping mechanic, which has become a beloved Easter egg among fans. According to Reddit user u/MetalGearFan42, who shared a screenshot of the Metal Gear Solid 4 pause menu in Master Collection Volume 2, the game's manual pages include a shot of the pause menu featuring a live cam of Sunny on the Nomad plane. Interestingly, the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game have removed the PS3 console from these scenes, replacing it with what appear to be GA-KO dolls.

While this doesn't confirm anything about the iconic line, it does suggest that Konami is willing to make changes for the Master Collection ports.
