Indian Railways Revises Timings for 2 Vande Bharat Express Trains
Indian Railways has officially announced revised departure schedules for two Vande Bharat Express semi-high-speed train services operating out of Varanasi. The updated timetables will take effect starting September 2, 2026, across the Varanasi-Ranchi and Varanasi-Deoghar routes.
Passengers planning journeys on these routes are advised to note the 10-minute earlier departure times from Varanasi junction.
Varanasi–Ranchi Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20888/20887)
Operated and maintained There are no changes to the train's scheduled arrival and departure timings at subsequent stations.

The service operates six days a week (excluding Tuesdays), covering 536 km in 7 hours and 50 minutes with stops at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Sasaram, Gaya, Koderma, Hazaribagh Road, Parasnath, Bokaro Steel City, and Muri.
Varanasi–Deoghar Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22500)
Northern Railway has also revised the morning schedule for the Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat Express (Train 22500). Beginning September 2, 2026, the train will depart Varanasi at 06:10 hrs, 10 minutes earlier than its previous 06:20 hrs slot. Station timings beyond Varanasi remain completely unchanged.
