Based on the eponymous chart-topping Naver webtoon that’s garnered almost 3 billion views, The Remarried Empress follows Navier (Shin), the respected empress of the Eastern Kingdom whose marriage begins to unravel when her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju), falls for the runaway slave Rashta (Lee Se-young) and asks her for a divorce. Instead of pleading with him to stay, Navier agrees, but on one condition: he must allow her to marry Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk), the crown prince of the rival Western Kingdom.

As Rashta becomes Sovieshu’s concubine and sets her sights on the throne, Navier must fight to reclaim her power while the fate of an entire kingdom hangs in the balance. What ensues is a sweeping mix of love, romance, betrayal, palace intrigue and political rivalries set against a backdrop of lush landscapes, European palaces and lavish costumes.
