Reason for Decline
The decision was made due to J.K. Rowling's controversial views on trans rights, with director Ally Pankiw stating that she would not support a project funding transphobia.
Pankiw expressed her stance in a text message exchange with her agent, saying 'Absolutely fucking not' when asked if she would be interested in the series.
Director Kate Herron also came forward, stating that she had previously declined the opportunity to direct an episode of the show due to Rowling's views.
