Engine failure causes severe injury on Ryanair flight from Greece to Germany.

A Ryanair passenger was seriously injured when his head and right shoulder were sucked out of a plane window due to a broken engine fan blade.

Engine Failure Sparks Investigation

The incident occurred on July 10th during a flight from Greece to Germany, where an engine fan blade broke shortly after takeoff.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the plane experienced a No. 2 right engine fan-blade-out failure during climb out, causing the window to shatter and sucking in the passenger's head and shoulder.

The crew declared an emergency and made an uneventful landing at Thessaloniki International Airport, where they received medical attention for the injured passenger.

His wife reported that she and two other passengers held onto his legs for several minutes to try and stabilize him until help arrived.

The NTSB has launched a full investigation into the incident, which is expected to shed light on the causes of the engine failure and how it could have been prevented.

The flight crew had received a high vibration alert during the climb, but they were unable to determine the cause of the issue before it was too late.

The incident highlights the importance of regular maintenance and inspections to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
