I was lucky for two reasons today. SPACE was just incredibly lucky. It left me with just one word. That’s lucky any time it happens but especially when you have no clue what the Wordle even means. I thought I was losing my mind for a minute trying to come up with anything — anything at all — and ended up typing in ASPIC just hoping it would work. I had no idea it was a type of “meat jelly” or that its origin as a word likely has to do with venomous snakes like asps. I guess you learn something new every day. And sometimes you get lucky in the process.

Wordle Bot Analysis

“Aspic” comes from French aspic, originally “asp” or “viper,” ultimately from Greek aspis. The same French word became the name for savory meat jelly, though exactly why is uncertain—possibly because of its appearance or cold, glossy character.
