Yash Refuses to Attend Fans Funeral Over Concerns of Setting a Precedent

Actor Yash has spoken out about his decision not to attend the funeral of a fan who died by suicide, citing concerns over setting a wrong precedent.

Why Yash Didn't Attend the Funeral

Yash was asked about the death of his 25-year-old fan, Ramakrishna, from Kodidoddi village in Karnataka's Mandya district. He died by suicide, and as per reports, had left behind a note expressing his wish for Yash and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to attend his funeral.

Yash explained that he stayed away because he did not want to set a wrong precedent. He stated that he did not want other fans to believe that such an extreme measure would compel him to attend. 'I felt that if I did this, a lot of people might think that if they do something like this, I will come,' he said. 'That mindset itself is wrong.'

Yash also expressed his sadness over Ramakrishna's death and acknowledged that he felt bad about it. However, he believed that attending the funeral could encourage others to take similar drastic measures.

The actor has been promoting his upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, recently. He will be seen in Prashanth Neel's hit KGF films and has other projects lined up, including Ramayana films with Nitesh Tiwari.
