The director of an offshore casino in Goa escaped unharmed after two assailants opened fire on him near a hotel in Porvorim, near Panaji, on Friday night, stated law enforcement personnel. The incident occurred at 8.47 pm when Srinivas Nayak, director of the Majestic Pride casino, was leaving the 'Neo Majestic' hotel, where the Majestic Paradise is also located.
According to the police, two assailants fired three rounds at Srinivas Nayak as he was about to sit in his car. His bodyguard responded with three shots, but the accused managed to flee. Law enforcement personnel stated no one sustained injuries in the crossfire.

Nayak informed the media: 'I was about to sit in my car when two assailants fired three rounds at me. My bodyguards fired three rounds in response. They fled,' he said.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage now.
Police said they were recording Nayak's statement and a probe had been initiated into the attack. 'The motive for the shooting is yet to be ascertained. The accused are yet to be identified.
