Project Overview

So far, 101 km of the main tunnels and 95 km of the escape tunnels have been completed. To speed up building work, eight access roads with a total length of 5 km have also been built, and all of them are now complete.

The project is expected to improve rail connectivity in Uttarakhand and make traveling to the Himalayan region easier.

The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway line will directly connect important religious destinations like Devprayag and Karnaprayag with Rishikesh and the national capital. The project is nearing completion, with 11 out of 19 major bridges already completed and work on the remaining bridges underway.
