Bollywoods Comic Caper Revival: Fardeen Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar Join Malamaal Weekly 2 Cast

Bollywood Hungama was the first to confirm in February 2026 that Malamaal Weekly 2 is in the works, marking a new chapter in the comic caper franchise. Two months later, we revealed that Amit Joshi of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024) fame has been signed to direct the film.

While Raveena Tandon and Parineeti Chopra have joined the cast of Malamaal Weekly 2, Shilpa Shirodkar has also signed on for her grand comeback to Bollywood after 26 years. Elvish Yadav and Rajpal Yadav have been locked in for their roles as well.

Bollywood Hungama now exclusively learns that Fardeen Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar have signed the film, bringing an exciting new dynamic to the cast. A source revealed, “Fardeen is on a roll since his comeback. He has done films in various genres, but he’s quite loved in comic capers.”

“Meanwhile, Mahesh Manjrekar is a one-of-a-kind actor. Even he rocks the show in comedy films,” the source added. “There’s a quirky character in the film and the makers felt that he would be apt for the part. He was excited to have got an offer for the sequel of such a memorable film and readily came on board.”

Producers are confident that both actors will do full justice and bring joy to audiences with their performances.

Malamaal Weekly 2 is expected to go on floors in November 2026, featuring a completely new storyline while retaining the core thematic flavour of the original. The film will follow a group of ordinary people in a small town, driven
