Udta Teer Gets U/A 13+ Certificate After Blood Shot and Disclaimer Cuts

The upcoming spy comedy, Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A 13+ certificate. The film's makers had to make significant changes to secure the certification. This includes removing a scene featuring blood on the Indian map and adding disclaimers for smoking and liquor consumption.

The CBFC's decision follows the submission of the film for certification. During which the board requested that the makers extend a preceding scene to cover up a cut and add disclaimers in certain scenes. The makers were asked to include the anti-smoking phrase "Smoking Kills" in five scenes and an anti-liquor disclaimer in a scene depicting alcohol consumption.

Despite the changes, the film's director, Akash A Kaushik, stated that no alterations were made to the dialogue or action sequences. The production team, including producers Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta, as well as Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, expressed relief that the censor process was completed in time for the film's scheduled release on October 23.

The film's adjusted length, 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 41 seconds, complies with the CBFC's requirements. Udta Teer tells the story of a Pakistani spy who infiltrates India but loses his memory. And has garnered attention due to its unique plot, humorous moments, and talented cast.

The makers of Udta Teer have successfully completed the censor process, and the film is now set for release on October 23.
