Broader Impact and Sector Outlook
STORE was mildly lucky, with 90 words left, but MELON really took the cake. I didn’t know I only had one word left, and frankly it took me longer than I care to admit to come up with it, but OLDEN was the Wordle. (Itself a word from “olden days”).
A tie with three apiece = 1 point for the both of us. August totals rise: Olden — from Middle English olden, based on old + -en. Originally simply “old,” it survives mainly in the phrase “olden times,” meaning former or ancient times.
