Motorola Joins MagSafe Party with Leaked Moto Snap Wireless Charger
Android hardware makers have been slow to adopt magnetic wireless charging, allowing Apple’s MagSafe and Google’s Pixel lineup to dominate the market. It appears that Motorola is poised to participate in the growing smartphone market. A leaked accessory dubbed the Moto Snap suggests the company could be preparing more phones for Qi2.
Moto Snap: A Breakthrough in Wireless Charging
Images posted online show a polished, Apple-like magnetic puck with a braided USB-C cable, metallic finish, and a purple accent ring. The accessory hints that native magnetic charging could expand across Motorola's mid-range and flagship lineup.
Of course Motorola has still not said anything about the charger. But if it’s an official accessory for the Edge 70 Max, then magnetic charging could finally become the mainstream Android standard we’ve been promised for years.
The Future of Wireless Charging
If the company begins adding native Qi2 magnets to more of its mid-range and flagship models, then magnetic charging could challenge the dominance of Apple’s MagSafe. Motorola’s move may signal a significant shift in the wireless charging landscape, with potential implications for consumers and Android hardware manufacturers alike.
Motorola's Edge 70 Max has already taken a step towards this future The handset also boasts impressive battery life, with six minutes of wired charging providing up to 12 hours of power.
