The Health Crisis That Almost Took Her Life

Courtney Love, the 62-year-old former Hole frontwoman, has been opening up about a health crisis she faced after moving to England in 2019. In a recent Instagram post, Love revealed that doctors told her she was going to die due to a severe reaction to her new environment.

Love explained that her'just exploded' and she was hospitalized multiple times. She lost significant weight and nearly died from anemia in 2021. Despite facing numerous health scares, Love has been working on a new solo album.

'It's done,' Love said of the record. 'It's kind of been done.' The former Hole frontwoman described the album as 'really good' and expressed her determination to return to music.

Love attributed her refusal to believe doctors who told her she was going to die to a childhood experience where she would pattern-interrupt adults, making them say one thing but seeing another. This experience has stuck with her, allowing her to see through the doctor's warnings and get better.

'I never really lost my ability to see that red was red,' Love said. 'And so when they said I was going to die, I just didn’t believe them.'

Love has faced other health scares over the years, including a near-death experience from anemia in 2021. Despite this, she remains determined to continue her music career.

'I will be back,' Love said of her music career. 'I just wasn’t public about being sick. I’m fine now.'
