Farman Khan, a resident of Rajasthan, and Mukhtar Ahmad Gujjar, a resident of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, have escaped from the jail, authorities stated.

Khan was facing charges under sections 3 and 4 (penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act in a case filed at the Lar law enforcement personnel station in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district.

Gujjar was also facing the same charges in a case lodged at Srinagar's Soura law enforcement personnel station. Law enforcement personnel have launched a manhunt to apprehend the duo, the authorities stated, adding that look-out notices have been delivered at all exit points of Kashmir.
