Actor Saif Ali Khan has finally joined Instagram, marking the end of his 17-year absence from the social media platform. The actor, who has largely kept his personal life away from the online world, has made his debut on Instagram with an official account, bringing an end to a prolonged period of digital solitude.

However, he had also expressed concerns about the potential for social media to be addictive, citing his reluctance to maintain a public presence online as a major factor.

During a 2024 conversation with HT City, Saif shared his thoughts on social media. Officials stated that he has access to the Instagram app and a secret account, which he occasionally uses. He also mentioned that he has struggled to resist the urge to delete his accounts, despite making promises to do so.

Furthermore, Saif expressed his desire to maintain a sense of independence from social media, highlighting the benefits of having a low online profile. He noted that this allowed him to avoid the pressure of promoting others' content and instead enjoy a sense of peace and quiet.

The first person Saif began following on Instagram was his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has reciprocated the gesture. The actor's inaugural post featured a photograph from his private library. Pataudi Library, which he had previously mentioned in his conversation with HT City.

On the professional front, Saif recently appeared in Priyadarshan's Haiwaan, which also starred Akshay Kumar. The film marked the actors' reunion after 17 years and was released in theatres in September to a mixed response.

Notably, the film's release was a significant event, as it brought together two prominent actors who had been absent from the industry for an extended period. The film's reception was largely lukewarm, with many critics and audiences expressing a sense of nostalgia for the actors' previous collaborations.

Despite the mixed response to Haiwaan, Saif's decision to join Instagram marks an important milestone in his personal and professional journey. As he embarks on this new chapter, it remains to be seen how he will utilize the platform to connect with his fans and share his experiences.
