The facility has previously hosted shoots for notable productions such as MTV’s RuPaul’s Drag Race, A24’s MaXXXine, Apple TV+’s Physical, and Netflix’s Atlas. However, with a spending pullback from Hollywood studios after 2023, many soundstages in Los Angeles became unused due to low occupancy rates.

Local officials are working to help producers cut red tape and keep production in the city. The California film commission director, Colleen Bell, emphasized the importance of maintaining production infrastructure to support film and television production, creating good-paying jobs, and sustaining the entertainment economy.
