Meteorite, the feature directorial debut of Colombian visual artist and filmmaker Sebastián Múnera, is set to make its world-premiere at the Venice Critics' Week on September 8. The film follows the journey of two women, Tefa and Nia, as they navigate a dangerous underworld of smuggling cell phones into a regional prison.

Múnera drew inspiration from his own childhood experiences growing up near the Magdalena River in Colombia. He often passed through the town of Nápoles, which was home to a zoo that later became a theme park and a maximum-security prison.
